The formal opening ceremony on the evening of October 2 began with a ribbon
cutting by Ms. Emma Prima, former president of Ta Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective and a retired Information Officer from Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Zamboanga del Norte;Elena Conde Tubaon Gamalinda, former president of Ta Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective (2008); Mrs. Raquel D. Palma Gil, Executive Director – Kalinawa Art Foundation and Honorable Mayor Evelyn T. Uy, City Mayor -Dipolog City
A total of 78 art pieces by 39 Tri people artists of Zamboanga del Norte and neighboring provinces were showcased in the exhibit, which was viewed by locals and art enthusiast indicating that the legacy of Indigenous art in Zamboanga del Norte and nearby provinces is still alive and could be sustained and further developed.

The winners of each category were awarded certificates and cash prizes, they are as follows:
Open 2 Dimensional 1st prize: Dalmatian by: Lordan D. Reganion
Open 3 Dimensional 1st prize: Live Band by: Lordan D. Reganion
Traditional Category 1st prize: Tangkob by: Joel Tigon
Youth Category 1st prize: Kariton by: Michele Grace R. Liwanag
The Judges who made the difficult decisions in selecting winners of the awards from among the many excellent nominations are: Leonor "Pinky" R. Rabino is one of the founding members of Ta Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective, Inc. she is also a visual artist , active in the performing and music arts in high school and college and assistant Dipolog City Information Officer ; Lilia I. Balansag, Vice President of Ta Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective, Inc a visual artist - known for her fabric art works , active Church leader and lecturer of the Diocese of Dipolog ,member of the KC and DMI Choir of the Holy Rosary Cathedral in Dipolog City , a retired public school teacher of Zamboanga del Norte National High School and an active Girl Scout of the Phils. facilitator and lecturer ; .Rossana Diaz , a known photographer and enthusiast , also into performing arts in her younger days, Barangay Chairperson of Dipolog City's Central Barangay and active in the City's culture and arts activities ; Samuel "Sammy" Amatong ,a visual artist, cartoonist of Zamboanga Penisula (local newspaper), lecturer on Editorial Cartooning - Annual Campus Journalism conducted by the Zamboanga del Norte Press Club, Inc. to high school students in the different schools within Zamboanga del Norte ,an active member of Zamboanga del Norte Press Club, Inc. and at present he works with the ZN Provincial Engineering Office
Ivy Gamalinda (Ta Glibon Ini Lady Art Collective current president), Ronald Tibayan (KAF – Staff) and Emma Prima (Curator) presented the awards and certificates of appreciation to the participants and volunteers who worked hard to ensure the event’s success.
The volunteers who donated their time and energy to make this event a successful one are: Leviña Ubay , Ana Cris Adela, Rodel Besas, Joenyl A. Luardo, Alfe E. Nalzaro and Francis Ramir Acevedo
Following this event, the Kalinawa Art Foundation will be holding its Annual Indigenous Art Exhibition in Tagum City on November 3 to 11, 2011.
