by Teray Clarito (ABS-CBN Bacolod) The Hinugyaw Street Dancing Competition is one of the highlights of Hinigiran’s 33rd Hinugyaw Festival last April 2011. Six barangay clusters danced to the official Hinugyaw beat wearing Malay inspired costumes made of Capiz shells and indigenous materials. “Hinugyaw†is a local dialect that means to rejoice. The Hinigaranons celebrate this one-week annual town fiesta in thanksgiving for all the graces the town and its people have received.
