Palo, Leyte is the Christmas Capital of Eastern Visayas.
The Christmas Festival of Palo, Leyte has become a major attraction in the region. Tourists, visitors and locals alike flock the town of Palo to witness the sparkling lights of the different Christmas decors in strategic areas. The municipal library is converted into a house of Santa Claus while the municipal park serves as the venue for the Belen and Christmas Tree competition. The competition include: best decorated and lighted barangay, best Christmas lantern, Santa Claus making contest, best decorated barangay hall, best Christmas Tree, best Belen, and best lighted government agency and business establishments.
