This is one of the best Pinoy foods in the country! This home-made dish “Humba” originated in the Visayas region. This dish is similar to that of the pork adobo we eat.
Now, how do you cook Humba? It's very easy! Try this recipe!
Prepare the ff:
1/2 kilogram pork, cubed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
¼ cup salted black beans
1/4 bay leaf
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
1/3 cup cashews or peanuts, toasted
1 cup pineapple juice
Follow this procedure:
In a pot, put the pork in water. Boil over high heat for 10 minutes, and then simmer over medium heat until tender. Remove meat from the pot and set stock aside.
In a preheated pan with oil, cook the garlic over medium heat, then add the pork and brown all sides.
Add the reserved stock, vinegar, soy sauce, salted black beans, bay leaves, sugar, nuts and the pineapple juice. Stir to blend all ingredients, and then simmer over medium heat until a syrupy glaze is achieved. Place it in a serving dish and serve it!
