Filipino Christmas is always family-oriented. Hence most Filino houses has a native belen displayed. However for those who would like to see an an antique collection of miniature belen (a tableau representing the Nativity scene) figurines Casa Gorordo Musuem will let you show not just one but a number of which you will surely be amazed.



Displayed in the library on the second floor of the Casa Gorordo Museum, the Belen depicts 10 scenes from the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary and Bible verses on the circumstances of Christ’s birth.



The conventional Belen depicts the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger, attended to by the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph, the angels, the shepherds and their flock of sheep, donkeys and cattle, and the Three Magi.



This tradition si spearheaded by the Ramon Abotiz Foundation in it’s continous effort to promote Cebu cultural heritage.
